During a seminar that I attended as an English Language Teacher I came across a very interesting poster. The line that caught my attention was " It is not the years in your life but the life in your years that counts".This very line line unveils a great philosophy of healthy living. It doesnot matter how long a man/women lives, its the way a person handles those years. In the book "Like the Flowing River" Paulo Cohelo also talks about the same phenomenon.Paulo enumerates that we are so much drenched in our busy routine that we donnot get time for anything else.We want to work and burn midnight oil because we want to prove to the world that how important we are.In the end ,when the time comes to depart the world ,the angels write in our book of deeds that "This man didnot live the life, he just passed it".Ironically this is what all of us are doing in reality.Nobody is living the life in true sense as we have over burdened ourselves with worldly stuff. We just crave after the status and position and in doing so sacrifice our filial duties and camaraderie to great deal. And to exacerbate the matters, nobody even realizes that untill the end. Its high time that we give it a thought and re-schedule our routine in a better way.
